We often create a problem while working on solving another problem. This is one way that learning occurs.

Be careful with alternate power, heating and cooking systems. Hurricanes, tornadoes, wind & ice storms, snow storms, blizzards, earthquakes and wild fires equal power outages.

Have a plan; communicate the plan before you have to use it. Check the batteries on smoke and carbon monoxide alarms; have extras.

Follow and respect the rules, guidelines and recommendations of the community personnel responsible for emergency situation preparedness, response and guidance

As part of Winter Hazard Awareness Week (November 5-9), the Minnesota Department of Commerce warns Minnesotans of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and to take steps to avoid this “silent killer.”
