Debate over CO Alarms in public buildings and buildings where people work is a waste time in the U.S.
The workplace is protected by Federal Law and the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
If the current law were enforced, buildings where people work would have an alarm set to go off when 50 PPM of CO is reached when the concentration, on average, has been present for a continuous 8 hour time period.
Look around where you or others work and you will find few, if any CO Alarms.
OSHA does not protect workers from higher, deadly concentrations; the law only protects the worker from an 8 hour time weighted (TWA) average and it is not enforced or monitored.
