Carbon monoxide leak in Highwood sends 4 to hospitals

Four people, including two inside a dentist's office, were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide leak Monday in north suburban Highwood. Emergency personnel responded about 12:35 pm to a report of a person with chest pains inside a dentist's office at ... All crews carry a carbon monoxide monitor inside a bag, which activated while assisting the person with chest pains, Pieri said. At that point crews realized the man with chest pains was actually suffering from effects of the carbon monoxide, and the building was evacuated.
