Operation Save a Life 2013
WTNH

A life-saving program designed to increase public awareness of fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO)…
NOTE: This is a great program for fire alert and high levels of carbon monoxide exposure. The instructions, warnings and disclaimers regarding carbon monoxide exposure are written on the packaging and the instructions. The CO alarms are not OSHA approved for workplace exposures nor do they protect people of vulnerable health with alarm sounds when low levels of the poisonous gas are present. These CO alarms have “resistance to alarm” criteria they must adhere to meet the listing requirements of Underwriter’s Laboratory Standard 2034. Take advantage of this program but please be encouraged to learn more about carbon monoxide and to obtain protection from it’s effects before they begin. Bob Dwyer, CSME Carbon Monoxide Safety.

The lowest U.L. 2034 & CSA 6.19 carbon monoxide alarm test point is:
- 70 PPM to 149 PPM – resist one hour, must alarm before 4 hours
Please read the alarm information on the package and in the instructions. Know when your fire department and emergency responders begin wearing their breathing apparatus and what their civilian evacuation levels are for carbon monoxide; it may be before 70 PPM. It is for pregnant women, infants & children, the elderly and all people of vulnerable health. Bob Dwyer, CSME Carbon Monoxide Safety

Increased education, awareness can prevent carbon monoxide poisoning
Minnesota Department of Commerce

SAINT PAUL, MN – Each year about 50,000 people visit emergency rooms in the United States for CO poisoning, and more than 500 die each year from this silent, odorless, colorless gas. As part of Winter Hazard Awareness Week (November 5-9), the Minnesota Department of Commerce warns Minnesotans of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and to take steps to avoid this “silent killer.”

What does this have to do with carbon monoxide safety?
It is just a live web cam, perhaps a distraction from the headlines of death and injury. Please become aware of the air you breathe. Measurement is education. Measure your air accurately when measuring carbon monoxide.
