Swansea family say leaky boiler put baby on drip
This is South Wales
A SWANSEA family said they spent a night in hospital after carbon monoxide leaked from their council house boiler, despite two recent checks… hospital tests showed his son had absorbed a higher concentration of carbon monoxide than he or his partner.

The human body is an aerobic organism, one living or occurring only in the presence of oxygen. The body breathes air and pumps blood, blood enriched with the oxygen out of the air just inhaled. It also fuels up as it eats food and drinks liquids while breathing, and life supporting nutrients are derived as the body’s chemical engine does its’ job enriching the blood supply. The function of life endears.

The cells within the human structure send out electrical signals requesting oxygen & protein enriched blood. The heart responds by sending enriched blood while at the same time returning
deoxygenated blood back to the heart for oxygenating. The measureable exhaust gases are predominantly carbon dioxide (CO2) , water vapor (H2O) and nitrogen (N). The chemical processes occurring within a living cell or organisms that are necessary for the maintenance of life is called metabolism. In metabolism some of the substances are broken down to yield energy for vital processes while other substances necessary for life are synthesised. Metabolism may be constructive and is referred to as anabolism or it can be destructive which is referred to as catabolism.

With a good diet, fresh air and working parts, a healthy human organism and the cells within have the ability or tendency to maintain
equilibrium or homeostasis by adjusting its physiological processes.

Aerobic metabolism is the creation of energy through the combustion of carbohydrates and fats in the presence of oxygen. The primary byproducts are carbon dioxide and water which the body disposes of by breathing and sweating.

Hypoxia is a deficiency in the amount of oxygen reaching body tissues. This reduction of oxygen causes a very strong drive to correct the deficiency which results in various stresses on all bodily functions; the greater the deficiency, the greater the trauma and dysfunction. Carbon monoxide gases can begin this process quickly. A baby is growing fast. With a more rapid metabolism, the inhalation of CO begins to consume the binding sites on the hemoglobin molecules and the young child can only scream out and gesture its’ pain.
