“The will to succeed is important, but what's more important is the will to prepare.” Bobby Knight (1940,)

COSA NOTES: Another heating season is approaching.
For some, the furnaces may have already been put into use. If it has not been done yet, please schedule a heating system test & inspection service that includes combustion analysis. While the contractor is at your house or building, make sure they conduct other combustion tests on any other systems you may have. These tests can help assure that for the time, the systems are performing safely and with limited or no carbon monoxide generation.

Have your furnace and other fuel burning appliances tested and inspected by a qualified professional once a year or before each heating season to each manufacturer’s measurable standards found in the instructions. You should receive a measurement report verifying what tests were taken and the results.

A certified professional should have a variety of certifications and continuing education credentials available for consumer viewing. The real certification is in the work performed that is verified and documented. Don’t assume classroom certifications achieved by heating contractors equal work performed. The technicians still has to do the work & conduct the tests. Find out what tests will be performed before you schedule service.

Make sure you have at least one low level carbon monoxide alarm in your building to protect all who may live or visit there.
