What will you be doing today?
Who will be responsible for the air you breathe?

Do not take risks with carbon monoxide. Take responsibility for the air you breathe and the combustion systems you are responsible for. If you don’t do it for yourself, do it for others.

Help prevent injuries and deaths; don’t guess about carbon monoxide.
Measure carbon monoxide for safety and knowledge. The more you test the more you learn. Measurement is continuing education at its best.

Hopes fade for Turkish mine fire survivors

Initial reports suggested an electrical fault caused the blaze but Mehmet Torun, a board member and former head of the Chamber of Mining Engineers who was at the scene, said a disused coal seam had heated up, expelling carbon monoxide through the mine’s tunnels and galleries. “They are ventilating the shafts but carbon monoxide kills in 3 or 5 minutes,” he told Reuters by telephone. “Unless we have a major miracle...

All of us have carbon monoxide in our blood. Our bodies produce it when hemoglobin in blood cells breaks down. People who smoke have elevated levels, though. And in this, they have something in common with elephant seals.

Preventing carbon monoxide poisoning on your boat
Fenton Tri County Times
Gas-powered boat engines produce carbon monoxide, or CO, a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas that can prove fatal to humans… No one gets on a boat expecting to be poisoned by CO. But CO can build up on a boat rather quickly, and because it has no color, odor or taste, boaters and their passengers may be inhaling CO without knowing it…

The lowest U.L. 2034 & CSA 6.19 carbon monoxide alarm test point is:
- 70 PPM to 149 PPM –resist one hour, must alarm before 4 hours
Please read the alarm information on the package and in the instructions. Know when your fire department and emergency responders begin wearing their breathing apparatus and what their civilian evacuation levels are for carbon monoxide; it may be before 70 PPM. It is for pregnant women, infants & children, the elderly and all people of vulnerable health. Bob Dwyer, CSME Carbon Monoxide Safety

Consider low level protection for carbon monoxide and smoldering fire detection problems; don't leave anyone behind.
