“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”
Oscar Wilde (1854-1900, bio link)

“Hey daddy, how come we can’t play outside today?”
The thought of equality is repugnant to some.  However, carbon monoxide and combustion gasses poison everyone. The combustion gasses filling our air are causing air quality alerts in cities in all areas of the world, some worse than others. The alert is broadcast with the warnings “Stay indoors; reduce outdoor activity.”

The world’s economic engine would seem to leave us no choice  as the fires of progress burn on, with the tenders frenzied with profiteering as the poisoning of themselves and others accelerates to economic demand.

Will our children stop us in time?  As we explain business and laws to them are we telling them also that to do this, we have to poison the air? We can’t keep the truth from them for long.

On a local level, we can all monitor the air for carbon monoxide.  Low levels of the gas begin to displace oxygen in our blood, all of us. Combustion engines from motor bikes to Lamborghinis can emit enough gas in a minute to make you sick or kill you. How much carbon monoxide and combustion gas do you want to breathe?
