With the heating season upon us, the Oshkosh Fire Department would like to remind people of the danger of carbon monoxide (CO). CO is an odorless, colorless, poisonous gas created when any fuel is burned.... So far in 2012, the Oshkosh Fire Department responded to 37 CO calls. While they are much more common in the winter, they can and do happen any time of the year.

As part of Winter Hazard Awareness Week (November 5-9), the Minnesota Department of Commerce warns Minnesotans of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and to take steps to avoid this “silent killer.”
