“Fear has its use but cowardice has none.”
Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948, bio link)
Who is responsible for the air you breathe? I have to keep asking the question?
It appears that our collective earth culture is on the hunt for a better fire that does not foul our air as much as the fires we currently use for industry, travel and personal uses.
Thousands of years ago humans faced the fear of fire and quit running away from it like the other animals; we studied and captured it and began attempts to tame it. We got burned and poisoned along the way. We lost many of our kind. It seems we continued to solve one problem regarding fire only to create new problems our haste has fostered, killing people and destructing our earth along the way.
Today we find that the zealous efforts to have the “perfect” fire without consequences has not changed. Will we have time to tame it? Perhaps the desire for hoarding and controlling gold has overcome our common sense. Bob Dwyer, CSME Carbon Monoxide Safety

Earth still absorbing carbon dioxide even as emissions rise
R & D Magazine
Carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere primarily by fossil fuel combustion and by forest fires and some natural processes, said Ballantyne. “When carbon sinks become carbon sources, it will be a very critical time for Earth,” said Ballantyne
