“Learn to... be what you are, and learn to resign with a good grace all that you are not.”  Henri Frederic Amiel (1821-1881, info link)

Fuel powered tools are dangerous when used indoors and if misused.
OSHA Carbon Monoxide Fact Sheet

Be aware; do not use fuel powered concrete saws indoors. Things can go wrong rather quickly. it is advised that you wear a personal CO monitor with a digital display that alarms and notifies you of the presence of the gas no later than 35 PPM of CO as soon as it reaches that concentration, if you ever operate a concrete saw.

It is recommended you eliminate the use of all fuel powered, portable equipment indoors, including propane forklifts. Combustion gas exposure is not recommended for anyone without proper breathing apparatus, regardless of your health. Wear a personal CO monitor with you at all times.

Respect the CO concentration evacuation levels of your community’s fire & emergency responders and note when they wear breathing apparatus. These evacuation levels may conflict with the OSHA regulation of 50 PPM in the 8 hour TWA.

Address the issues of carbon monoxide source generation and exposures. The worker is not the enemy. The boss or owner is not the enemy. Carbon monoxide is the enemy. Measure it and address it. Bob Dwyer, CSME Carbon Monoxide Safety

Note this distraction from carbon monoxide poisoning:
Bald Eagle Camera Alcoa Bald Eagle Camera, Davenport, Iowa.

A friend of mine notified me that the pair of bald eagles has returned to their nest along the Mississippi River in Davenport, Iowa. The Alcoa Company has their web cam up and running and viewing of the nest is possible during daylight hours, Central Standard Time, US. Update: An egg has been layed and the tending begins, perhaps with another egg soon. The Alcoa Eagle website gives a good history of the pair and the company’s involvement with them. If you haven’t viewed this site through the hatching and growth of the eaglets, I think you may find it to be quite a live sight to see when you may have those periodic spare moments. This link will be posted on this site for those people who may wish to capture the link and watch the cycle of life of this nesting pair.

What does this have to do with carbon monoxide safety?
It is just a live web cam, perhaps a distraction from the headlines of death and injury. Please become aware of the air you breathe. Measurement is education. Measure your air accurately when measuring carbon monoxide
