“My path has not been determined. I shall have more experiences and pass many more milestones.” Agnetha Faltskog (1950, bio link)

The transition from one year to the next  in a time of scheduled holiday activities has more than its share of good times and not so good times. The heaviness and suffocating grasp the unexpected death of a friend or loved one has on us strains our abilities to do anything but mourn and breathe through the heartache. Whether it be the losses through random, violent acts, auto accidents or a gradual, unsuspecting poison stealing life from the living, they all result in survivors and those impacted by the losses.

There are some parts of our lives we may have more control  over to help safeguard and reduce the likelihood of some tragedies that are more foreseeable than others. Reducing exposure to carbon monoxide gas is more easily accomplished if you are aware that all combustion systems everywhere have the potential to generate deadly levels of the poison. And since there is no way you or I or anyone would know how well tuned and safe the heating equipment is in any other building we may work in, visit, go to school in, sleep in, shop in or whatever we do there, some awareness or measurement is the best safeguard.

Low level carbon monoxide protection everywhere  you go isn’t “over the top”; just ask a survivor of CO poisoning.
