We had another good week training in Minnesota thanks to the Energy Security Division of the Minnesota Department of Commerce. The Weatherization Program’s across the state have brought on over 60 new Energy Auditors who will be assessing eligible homes for approved energy conservation measures that will help reduce individual fuel costs as well as collectively reduce overall energy demands and controversial emissions of combustion gases into the atmosphere. These new auditors join the many others in this decades old program who have dedicated their service careers to energy conservation and servicers to eligible households in MN; some of the individuals have participated for over 20 years.
COSA was honored to have been introduced to this focused and eager group and to help assist them in the areas of personal carbon monoxide safety as well as the dynamics of measuring combustion gases in appliances and building pressure influences in the space of their clients & customers homes. It is honorable in pointing out and applauding the resolve demonstrated by the State of Minnesota in administering work place development opportunities as well as providing the avenues for U.S. manufacturers of energy related products to have their products purchased and installed by skilled service providers and then inspected by trained personnel to ensure the products are installed correctly, are durable, substantiate energy efficiency gains and that the measures do not adversely affect indoor air quality. This is a “Win-Win” activity for the people of Minnesota. These carbon monoxide safety training activities aim to help educate enough people so that more people are aware of the hazards associated with every day encounters with combustion gases to help reduce the number of sad stories posted below and on this site. Every day is a CO Safety Day!
