Do not take risks with carbon monoxide. Take responsibility for the air you breathe and the combustion systems you are responsible for. If you don’t do it for yourself, do it for others.

Help prevent injuries and deaths; don’t guess about carbon monoxide.

“When I hear somebody sigh, 'Life is hard,' I am always tempted to ask, 'Compared to what?'” Sydney J. Harris (1917-1986, bio link)

Do not take risks with carbon monoxide. Take responsibility for the air you breathe and the combustion systems you are responsible for. If you don’t do it for yourself, do it for others.

If you live in a home where there is a combustion gas source and you do not have a carbon monoxide alarm, you are taking a risk for yourself and for others. Get one, it is not foolish.

If you are less than healthy or recognize the hazards of chronic exposure to low CO levels, get better protection. Find and get a low level carbon monoxide alarm, one that notifies you audibly and visually with concentration notifications when levels are just beginning to accumulate in the air you are in. If you are having difficulty finding low level protection, contact COSA through
http://www.cosafety.org/

Combustion systems like furnaces, boilers, cooking systems, fireplaces, space heaters and domestic water heaters can be installed to operate with minimal carbon monoxide production and to safely vent the products of combustion out of the breathable air. If you do not have your appliances tested and adjusted for minimal CO generation and safe combustion gas exhausting, you are taking a risk.

Boats, motorcycles, lawn mowers, garden tractors and tillers, go-carts, jet skis, motor home and caravan gas appliances, liquid fueled generators, “4 wheelers”, camp fires, and many other sources of combustion gasses can all be responsible for the death or injury of someone by carbon monoxide if they or someone else is not careful. This is the “SILENT KILLER", THE INVISIBLE AND DEADLY DEMON OF DEATH that can ruin your day and the rest of your life.

The ripple effect of pollution
Gulf Times
Beijing is legendary for its pollution, but a new study is now suggesting that the poor air quality in Asia is affecting the weather elsewhere in the globe… Human activity can, and does, change the weather, and not in just one location. The world’s weather is intricately linked, so what happens in one part of the world, can greatly impact elsewhere… If more evidence is found to support the theory that the weather in the USA is being adversely affected by the pollution in Asia, it will be a bitter pill for many to swallow and may well play a role in future politics… However, it may be worth bearing in mind that whilst China and India are two of the three largest contributors of man-made pollution, the country in second place is the United States. What its pollution is doing to other parts of the globe is, as yet, unknown.
